Water Softener Installation in Katy & Greater Houston
Houston-area supply water routinely tests between 10 and 16 grains per gallon — deep into the “very hard” band. A properly sized softener is the single highest-return water upgrade a home in this region can make.

Specification
What is in it, and why.
- Sized to your home, not a catalog
- We size the resin volume to your household count, fixture count and measured hardness, so the system regenerates on demand instead of on a timer.
- 75 lbs of USA-made, 10% crosslinked resin
- High-capacity NSF-certified softening resin over an NSF polishing gravel underbed for even flow distribution. 48,000 grain capacity in a 15" x 52" media tank.
- Chlorine and chloramine reduction built in
- 15 lbs of NSF-certified granular activated coconut shell carbon handles the disinfectant taste and smell most Houston MUD supplies carry.
- Ascend ProValve — ceramic disc control
- Meters actual water use and regenerates only when needed. Ceramic discs for longer life and less maintenance, long-term program memory and a 72-hour backup. 28 GPM flow through a 1" bypass.
- Lifetime warranty on the system
- Tanks, valves, housings and major components, for as long as you own the home.

FAQs
Questions about water softeners.
How much does a water softener cost in Houston?
Our Complete Home System — whole-home softening with carbon chlorine and chloramine reduction, plus the AW800 AlkaPro tankless reverse osmosis drinking system — is $3,500 installed. That is the whole number: standard installation, bypass valve, programming, full pressure test, walkthrough and a lifetime warranty. No separate install charge and no maintenance contract. A softener-only build is quoted at your free water test.
Will a softener lower my water pressure?
No. We size the valve and bypass to your service line so flow stays the same. If your pressure is already low, we will tell you why during the walkthrough — it is usually a pressure-reducing valve or an undersized supply line, not the softener.
How much salt will I go through?
Most Katy and Cypress homes on a demand-initiated valve use one to two 40 lb bags a month. Timer-based softeners — the kind big-box stores sell — often use double that.
Do I need a plumber to install it?
You need a licensed installer. All contracted installs are performed by a TCEQ-licensed water treatment specialist or a licensed plumber, as Texas requires.
